Next .. First good news – apparently the soekris NICs can handle regular cables. Meaning I wont need to mess with cross cables to connect devices directly to the soekris.
I just directly connected my laptop to the soekris with a regular cable (far as I know) and I can access the web interface. So huraay!

Still leaves me with the DHCP problem though.. I’m not about to go fixed IP network here.. It d drive EVERYONE insane!
