The thin veil of obfuscation in CD flash widgets

I REALLY love those cd previews. Its nice to be able to listen to the music before actually shelling out money.

Its sad to see though that the only thing standing between you and free music from the flash cd preview widgets is an ”swfdump -D file” and a quick search.

Bitching about copyright and the demise of their obscenely bloated business model but not even taking the slightest precaution? Its beyond words. The only possible conclusion is that they are seriously turning suing their clients into a revenue stream, and a huge part of it at that. This is not a new idea but that doesnt make it less disgusting.

On the other hand; there is no sure way to secure it; in the end, you can just tape the sound from your speakers – Old Skool!
