I was replying Shelli on Facebook on free books for her fresh eReader when I realised this might actually be an interesting blob to repeat on the ol’ blog! 🙂
Free books like any book older than 70 years or so: “Our books are free in the United States because their copyright has expired.” So that means all the classics; Dracula, Dorian Grey, Robinson Crusoe, Alice in Wonderland, … All the works by Edgar Allan poe, Shakespeare, AC Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), … and a Whole Lot MORE! Though some places still try and have you pay for those..
2 ways to get them 🙂
- Google Books (http://books.google.com/) has a lot of books, Select “Full View Only” to make sure you dont start reading a preview..
- Project Guttenberg (http://www.gutenberg.org) has a Great amount of free books; available in all sorts of formats
So when shopping for an e-Reader, make sure you can put your own files on there amd that it supports pdf, ePub or just plain text files so you dont have to pay to get books that are legally available on the internet for free!
