That ll be the focus of the last article, though most of the screenrc hackery is slightly obsolete since ubuntu created their assortment of screenrc configs. They&#039;re impressive, really!</description>

term xterm
hardstatus string &quot;%n - %h&quot;
windowlist string &quot;%3n %h%=%f&quot;

combine this with the classic &#039;xterm window title&#039; hack in bash to set the &#039;hardstatus&#039; to user@host:dir.

This way you will always find the right screen window back in the window list (C-a &quot;) and see where you are in your terminal&#039;s window title!
