Now I WANT a Kindle2
But they dont have to bother to rebrand it.. I’ll be glad with the “Dont Panic” in friendly font on the cover..
Though to be honest .. its too closed to my taste. I d at least need extra wifi connectivity & an easy way to put all my ebooks up there for free.. (Because having them reformat my books really wont do.. and paying for them to do it even less) But they re on the way

Its the talk of the town (lwn, /., Linux devices, TG Daily, ..?) & I too was excited when I read about it. A small linux server with decent processor, ram & hd; a Network card and an usb interface. For less then 100$. Hot damn! If I didnt have my soekris allready, this might have gone a long way too! That lil bugger only eats 5watt & has more processor power than my current file server!!!!!
Dont have any use for it now however. I might think of some though
I’ve been racking my brain from the moment I read the post
The options are obvious.. Webserver, Fileserver (with possibly extra USB storage), Download box, SSH/VPN portal, Controlling power/UPS for other machines, Print server, Streaming media server ………..
In security context or rather breaking in context its quite cool. Configure it to call home, plug it into the foreign network (requires physical acces, but that cant be a problem..) & blamo! access to the network
It can sniff, it can download, it can ……….. So thats cool
But asfor my personal needs.. I havent thought of anything I need that I havent got already just yet.
& wtf? Google MIGHT have gone down after a DDOS MIGHT have been initiated against the service? Thats just publishing anything! :/ I did appreciate Elise Huard’s comments on the matter today. We take GMail for granted even though there are NO guarantees whatsoever.. :s

There s this action on ebay that sells what I desperately want. But the fucker wont ship overseas. Even though his lot of 14 books wont sell, the auction is only an hour & there isnt a single bid; he doesnt ship to Europe.
Fucking pigfucker! I do get his sentiment, but .. yeah, fuck him!

Enjoying the comforts of my popcorn hour. Its an amazing piece of hardware. Long overdue really! I’m glad this type of hardware is becomming more common!
Now all I need is the projector back up again because that sodden TV is getting on my nerves! And not in the least for the annoying high sound TVs make. I miss that least of all! Goddamned! Our beamer is all but silent.. but at least its not that annoying!
